Join the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department for a weekend filled with food, live country music, family activities and more! Yorkville River Fest is a family-friendly festival providing fun all weekend long!  See below for a complete list of events.

Join us for a day filled with family activities, delicious food, the Whitewater Festival, and LIVE COUNTRY MUSIC!


Grab your boots and get ready to sing along to all of your favorite country hits as we have an amazing lineup of country music throughout the day including:

Prairie Station (Noon-2pm)
Nashville Electric Company (3-6pm)
Whiskey Romance (7-10pm)


The day will be filled with fun for the entire family with piñatas every hour (1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm & 5pm), bounce houses, Meet & Greets and Scavenger Hunts!   See below for additional details!


ARRRGGGHHH Mateys!  Jack Sparrow's crew has hidden his treasure in Riverfront Park and he needs your help to find it!  Gather your Pirate Crew and follow the clues!  The first 24 Pirate Crews to locate the hidden treasure will receive a portion of the booty!  To start the hunt, Pirate Crews should report to the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Information Tent to receive their treasure map between Noon-5pm on Saturday, July 17 at Riverfront Park (131 E Hydraulic Ave, Yorkville).  All prizes must be redeemed between Noon-5pm at the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Information Tent.  Please note, all locations within the treasure hunt will be within Downtown Yorkville & Riverfront Park.    Also, don't miss your chance to meet Jack Sparrow as he will be at River Fest from 1-4pm on Saturday, July 17!


Ariel loves exploring the world above the ocean on those...what do you call them, again?  Oh, feet!  On her first visit to Yorkville, she walked around and found some of the most amazing things downtown and in the parks, but she is not sure what to call them!  Can you help Ariel by finding all of the items on her list and naming them?  Once all items are located, go to the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department Information Tent to collect your prize!  All prizes must be redeemed between Noon-5pm on Saturday, July 17.  Please note, all locations within the search will be within Downtown Yorkville & Riverfront Park.  Also, don't forget to come and meet Ariel at River Fest from 1-4pm on Saturday, July 17!


Take to the seas as you meet with Ariel and Jack Sparrow from 1-4pm on Saturday, July 17!  


Get ready to try some of the best brews around on Saturday, July 17 from 2-6pm!  For $15/person or $25/couple, participants will taste a variety of six local craft beers with a souvenir glass and walk away with a 14oz glass of your favorite!

The Cardboard Boat Race is back in 2021!  Gather the cardboard, make your design and pick a Captain for this splashtastic event!  After a year off we are happy to paddle our way back to Yorkville's Riverfront Park and find out who has what it takes to stay afloat!  Cash prizes will be awarded to the to the 3 fastest boats and the top 3 boats voted Best In Show!  

Race begins at 5:30pm with voting for Best In Show starting at 4:00pm.  Registration is accepted the day-of with floats arriving to Riverfront Park no later than 3:30pm.  Life vests, helmets and paddles will be supplied and kids are welcome and encouraged to participate!  For more information or questions, contact Stephanie or go to the Cardboard Canoe Race Facebook Page.

The smell of BBQ Ribs will fill the park all weekend long as the Knights of Columbus provide their award-winning ribs! If you're not a fan of ribs, additional local food vendors will be serving their fan favorites including Pepe's and Rosati's!
