St. Patrick's Day Celebration - Saturday March 16th 

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year in downtown Yorkville on Saturday, March 16th!  This family friendly celebration will keep the entire family entertained with a 5K run at 9 am and Irish parade at 11 am plus kid’s activities, live Irish music, and food specials all day long at the downtown Yorkville businesses!   For specific times, locations, and a complete schedule of events go to  This event is hosted by the United City of Yorkville and the Yorkville Downtown Businesses.

2019-2020 Budget Hearing Information

Public Hearing: Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Budget, March 26th 

The United City of Yorkville will hold and conduct a public hearing on the proposed 2019-2020 Annual Budget.  This hearing will be held at the City Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 800 Game Farm Road, Yorkville, IL  60560. This is a great opportunity to have your voice heard during the budget process. Bunny Breakfast & Egg Hunt Information

Bunny Breakfast & Egg Hunt Saturday April 6th 

The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department and Senior Services invite you and your family to join us for the annual Bunny Breakfast & Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 6th from 8:00 am -9:30 am at the Beecher Community Center (908 Game Farm Rd, Yorkville)!  Families will eat a hot breakfast with the Easter bunny, create crafts, play games, and then at 9:15 am hunt for Easter eggs!  The egg hunt will be held outside, so please dress appropriately.  The cost is $6 per person and includes breakfast, activities, visits with the Easter bunny, and the egg hunt.  For questions or to register, go to or call 630-553-4357.  Please note, pre-registration is required, and all ages must register.

Development Update

During the fall of 2018 and winter of 2019, with all the severely cold weather, it did not stop new building in Yorkville. There were 92 single family residential permits issued. The final BUILD incentive home closed on March 8, 2019, for a total of 428 BUILD permits issued overall since 2012.
New commercial projects opened, under construction or approved include: Planet Fitness, Arby’s, Flight Team, and a Solar Farm Project for Kendall County Government Center.  Also, Grace Coffee in Countryside opened its doors in February and Cedarhurst Assisted Living and Memory Care on US 34 and Cannonball will open mid-March. 
Later this year, the building department will be making a proposal recommending the adoption the 2018 International Codes (ICC). Finally, in partnership with Backflow Solutions, Inc. (BSI) the City is taking part in an IEPA survey for cross connection/backflow devices to help prevent the contamination of our water sources.

Check out our new park amenities! Windett Ridge Park

This Park is our newest park and playground located at 2500 Fairfax Way in the Windett Ridge Development on the far south side of Yorkville.  Walk the plank and climb aboard the pirate ship playground and set sail as this park features a “Pirate Themed” playground for children 5-12 years old. This playground also has swings for children ages 2-5 and a freedom inclusive swing seat which allows children of all abilities to enjoy swinging. This park also includes a picnic table for those who want to have a snack or eat lunch and a themed siting area for people sit and watch. In total the park is approximately eight acres allowing lots of open space to play ball, fly a kite or relax in the sun.
