Public Hearing Information

Certain proposed projects require public hearings to ensure all residents and interested parties are aware of petitions submitted to the City.  The following is general information regarding current public hearings with links to the public notices:


Involuntary Annexation Strategy

Request:  Annexation of unincorporated territory less than 60-acres in area wholly surrounded by the United City of Yorkville's corporate boundaries.

Summary:  In accordance with Illinois State Statute and recommendation of the recently adopted Comprehensive Plan Update 2016, the United City of Yorkville, is proposing the annexation of eleven (11) unincorporated planning areas consisting of nearly 100 parcels of agricultural, commercial, institutional, and residential land uses. Each planning area encompasses less than 60-acres and is completely surrounded by the United City of Yorkville's corporate boundaries. A detailed summary report of the identified planning areas, current land use and acreage, existing Kendall County zoning, Yorkville Comprehensive Plan future land use designation, availability of utilities, current estimated population or current net assessed valuation has been complied by city staff. Discussion of the annexation process and proposed actionable timeline has also been prepared for City Council consideration.

BAP Power Corporation - Solar Farm (Special Use)

Request:  Special Use Permit 


Date of Public Hearing:  May 9, 2018 at 7:00 PM 


Summary:  BAP Power Corporation dba Cenergy Power, petitioner, has filed an application with the United City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois, requesting special use permit approval to install and operate a ground mounted community solar field on approximately 9.69 acres of land consisting of roughly 7,000 solar modules with a maximum height of seven (7) feet at full tilt. The real property is located in the southeast quadrant of Illinois Route 71 and Illinois Route 126 within the Windmill Farms Planned Unit Development in Yorkville, Illinois.

GRNE Solar - Kendall County Government Campus - Solar Farm (Special Use)

Request:  Special Use Permit

Summary:  has filed an application with the United City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois, requesting special use permit approval to install and operate a solar farm with more than one freestanding solar energy system on approximately 7.4 acres of land consisting of roughly 6,400 solar modules. The real property, zoned in the O Office District, is located at the southeast corner of John Street and Beecher Road at the Kendall County Government Campus in Yorkville, Illinois.
