Youth/Adult Programs

The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department partners with local agencies to hold skills development classes for youth and adults. These classes are held at the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department (201 W Hydraulic Ave,Yorkville) throughout the year. These classes include computer courses, CPR and First Aid Courses, Baby Sitting Courses and much more. Below is a list of classes being offered in the current catalog. Heartsaver First Aid


Heartsaver First Aid is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students the critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services can arrive. Students will learn the duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers and first aid actions for medical emergencies. Heartsaver First Aid is for adults 18+ and is now offered at a new lower rate. Heartsaver CPR


Heartsaver CPR/AED is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult, child, and infant CPR, AED use, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. This course teaches skills with the American Heart Association's research proven practice-while-watching technique which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide students' learning skills. This course is for anyone who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. This class is offered at a new lower rate.
