Volunteer-Based Positions
Yorkville boards and commissions are volunteer-based, however the Board and Commission Application (PDF) is required and the Mayor approves appointments. To be considered for a commission, please download an application and return it to City Hall.

New Committees
Committees are also volunteer based and new committees in the United City of Yorkville are always welcome. If you have an idea for a new committee, please contact Mayor Golinski. View the Committee Book and Guidelines.
  1. Board of Fire & Police Commissioners

    The Fire and Police Commissioners meet on a quarterly basis.

  2. Library Board of Directors

    The Library Board makes and adopts bylaws, rules and regulations for their own guidance and for the government of the library.

  3. Park Board

    Members of the Park Board are appointed by the Mayor and consists of 7 persons who shall serve as voting members.

  4. Police Pension Fund Board

    The Mayor appoints 2 members to the Police Pension Fund Board, with the remaining positions being elected.

  5. Planning and Zoning Commission

    The Planning and Zoning Commission meets to discuss and make recommendations for City Council consideration.
