Athletic Leagues

Yorkville Parks and Recreation offers many adult and youth leagues throughout the year. Listed in this section are the leagues that are offered along with contacts for other sport organizations within the community.

Additional league information is available by contacting the Recreation Office (630-553-4357) or referring to the current catalog. Online registrations are limited and not always accepted for adult or youth athletic leagues.

Softball Game

Youth Fall Soccer 

This league is designed to teach and improve the various skills and knowledge pertaining to the game of soccer in a fun, recreational atmosphere. There will be a 7 game schedule, weather permitting, with the majority of games played on Saturdays. Practice will be held twice a week for the first two weeks of the season. Practices will then reduce to once a week starting the third week of the program. Practice days and times will be determined by each coach. Players will wear a reversible jersey that can be purchased for $18 at the Parks and Recreation Department (201 W Hydraulic Ave, Yorkville). Registration is available online, by calling 630-553-4357, or in person at the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department (201 W Hydraulic Ave, Yorkville) beginning Monday, June 5 and ending on Friday, June 16, 2017. Fall Soccer divisions are as follows: Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st-2nd Grade, 3-4 Grade, 5-8 Grade Coed.         

Winter Youth Basketball Leagues

These leagues are designed to teach and improve the fundamentals of basketball. Skills that will be focused on include dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and offense. There will be a 9 game schedule with the majority of games being played on Saturdays. Grades 5-8 will play an end of season tournament. Registration will be available according to the following schedule:

  • Grades K-6 (September 25- October 6)
  • Grades 7-8 (October 23- November 3)
  • High School (November 6-17)

Youth Baseball Tournaments

The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department hosts 4 Youth Baseball Tournaments throughout the summer. Tournaments are held at Steven G. Bridge Park (3651 Kennedy Rd, Yorkville) during the months of April-July. Sports League Weather Hotline

Athletic games will be cancelled in the case of extreme inclement weather. Players will be notified of all cancellations by their team coach, but can call our weather hotline at (630) 557-8471 or set up an account through RainoutLine for updated cancellation information. Practices are cancelled by individual coaches, so please contact your coach for practice cancellation information.


The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department will share game cancellations and announcements through an online system.  You can view the program status online, sign up for text and/or email alerts, or download the mobile app.

Volunteer Coaches

The Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department is always looking for knowledgeable volunteer coaches for the Youth Soccer and Basketball leagues.
